Our story so far
Founded by Bob Deutsch in 1998, DTA (formerly Deutsch Inc) was an outgrowth of the incredibly successful Comcast Outdoor Film Festival benefiting the NIH Children’s Charities. Projection technology at the time was 35mm film only, and DCP standards had not yet been specified. The company began operating as Outdoor Movies, and DTA Digital Cinema emerged when DCI-compliant DCP screenings became an industry standard.
Fast Forward
DTA was an early adopter in 2009, acquiring a 32,000 lumen Christie DCP cinema projector that added DCI-compliant projection to our outdoor movie technical capabilities, and we became Christie Digital Cinema certified operation and repair specialists.
International Invitations
Beginning in 2010, DTA Digital Cinema initiated contracts with the Riviera Maya Film Festival, Los Cabos Film Festival and FICUNAM Film Festival to bring large-scale high quality outdoor screenings to their international audiences.
Year Round Service
When it is winter in the USA, it is summer south of the equator. DTA expanded to the Southern Hemisphere in 2013 with DCI compliant projection at Festival Wikén in Santiago, Chile. They are still a wonderful client. Our global rental and sales operation has grown to include the International Film Festival of Panamá, Bermuda International Film Festival and Festival Cine Los Condes.

DTA Has Come A Long Way
DTA Digital Cinema is now a Barco/Cineonic dealer, Christie Digital partner and dealer, as well as an authorized Doremi Lab dealer. Our cinema engineers are trained to install, service and operate the entire lineup of Christie Digital Cinema projectors. We have gone from just one early model digital cinema projector, to a vast array of machines with 4k capabilities. As trusted advisers and suppliers we provide equipment to:

All That We Do
DTA Digital Cinema is North America’s lead supplier of DCP projection equipment to large film festivals and special events. Now more than ever, studios are requiring DCI compliance for permission to screen their movies. We can provide DCP projectors that show these movies exactly how the producers and studios intended. Our array of digital cinema accessories is not limited to projectors. We have Dolby Digital Cinema audio processors, Doremi servers (though some projectors have integrated IMBs), and 2 nanometer aperture spectroradiometers for DCI color calibration. Our certified and trained engineers will provide fully DCI-compliant projection, for a viewing experience that is truly unlike any other.
DTA Digital Cinema is also authorized to distribute Christie Digital Cinema projectors and to provide permanent projector installations. We have created custom projection booths to establish the best projection quality and experience for the audience. We have a 24/7 customer support line, where our highly skilled engineers will provide technical guidance. Our outdoor movie division is the AIRSCREEN distributor for North America and a manufacturer of inflatable movie screens and surfaces. Our People
Robert Deutsch
Bob received his B.S. degree from University of Maryland in Radio, Television and Film. Before starting DTA Outdoor Movies he worked for ABC and other media properties for more than 20 years. With his name on five patent's, Bob enjoys technology and keeping DTA Digital Cinema at the forefront of the industry.
Shane Spruill
Shane joined in 2002 and made an immediate impression on the company and our clients. Shane leads our warehouse team and manages all field operations.
